Our Story
Brickman Executive Search launched in 2018 as a tiny boutique serving tech startups in Vancouver's Gastown. What started as a passion project—matching innovative companies with game-changing leaders—grew into a trusted partner for businesses across Canada.
In 2021, we opened offices on Toronto's Bay Street and Montreal's Mile-Ex, seeing that Canada's growing business scene needed different kinds of leaders. Now we work with companies from Calgary to Halifax, plus a few in Europe, keeping our personal touch even as we've grown.

Our Vancouver team works out of the Bentall Centre in downtown's financial district. We host 'CEO Breakfasts' at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia nearby, where over Eggs Benedict and good coffee, we talk leadership trends with Canada's top business minds.
Our Coal Harbour location puts us close to Vancouver's growing tech scene in Gastown, the established financial crowd on West Georgia, and the new life sciences hub near Vancouver General Hospital.

Jakub brings 18 years of executive search experience across Canada and Central Europe. Fluent in English, Czech, and Slovak. Rotman School of Management alumni with specialized expertise in technology and financial services leadership recruitment.
Marta Novakova
Senior Search Consultant, Technology Practice
Marta formerly led talent acquisition at Shopify (2015–2021), where she built the company's Canadian engineering leadership team. She specializes in VP-level engineering, product, and data science roles for high-growth technology companies.
Liam O'Connell
Senior Search Consultant, Finance Practice
Liam is a CFA charterholder who spent 12 years at RBC Capital Markets before joining Brickman. He focuses on CFO and senior finance leadership searches for mid-market Canadian companies in transition phases.
Sophie Chen
Research Director
Sophie leads our candidate sourcing and research operations. Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, she connects Brickman to top Asian-Canadian executive talent across Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary's business communities.
